Greetings, everyone!

This is my first time guest blogging at the CK Blog – it is such a great privilege! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Emeline Seet a papercrafter living in Singapore.

Today, I have the honor to represent Tattered Angels.

Mother’s Day is just round the corner and this special season is in some way synonymous with flowers and heartfelt appreciation.

Here, I created a Mother’s Day themed two-pager layout using two of my favorite techniques: glimmer misting and masking.

You must be thinking these two techniques have been around for a while already. Yes, you are absolutely correct! However, in today’s blog post, we shall explore a little further with glimmer misting and masking using two different glimmer mists.

Supplies:

White flower (Prima)

Glimmer Screens (Tattered Angels)

Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)

Pattern paper (Webster’s Pages)

Brads (K&Company)

Die Cut Stickers (Basic Grey)

Thickers (American Craft)

Choice of flower : White pre-made flower. A clean background is a perfect platform for the color intensity and masked image to be more evident.

Choice of stencil: In order for the masked image to show, I used a design with a less dense design. Meaning, a stencil with more complex design may cloud the misting.

On my layout, I used Tattered Angels Winter Crystals Glimmer Screens.

Choice of glimmer mist : I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Chalkboard (Peacock) and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Meadow Green). To help you decide which color combination work best, you might wish to use the color wheel to help you.

Step 1: Gather your supplies.

Step 2: Press pre-made flower flat onto surface.

Step 3 : Spritz with a lighter colored glimmer mist (green). Remove stencil and let dry. You may wish to use the heat gun to speed drying process.

Step 4 : Change the position of the stencil and spritz with a darker shade glimmer mist (blue).

Step 5 : Remove stencil and let dry.

Tip: To achieve a light misting, spray your surface from a distance. Glimmer misting is a great way to customize your embellishments!

Lastly, please leave us a comment here, telling us which is your favorite colored Glimmer Mist for your chance to win a few bottles of Tattered Angel‘s Glimmer Mist: Meadow Green, Chalkboard Peacock, and Tidepool Glam!
